How Do I Pay For This Work?

Fees

Like many psychotherapists in private practice, I am considered an out-of-network provider for nearly all of the insurance companies. If your insurance company has an out-of-network benefit it may cover a portion of the cost of treatment. I can provide you the documentation you need to submit a claim for that coverage.

Keep in mind that when you access your mental health benefits through your health insurance, disclosure of confidential information may be required by the health insurance carrier as part of their claims process. Providers have no control over, or even knowledge of, what insurance companies do with the information that you submit or who has access to this information, risking confidentiality, privacy, and future outcomes.

While the above cautions are your’s to consider, for myself, I value maximizing my time for work on your behalf and not for the time and effort it takes to struggle with insurance providers over level of care and how promptly payment will be made, thus, my fee-for-service practice.

Rates

Free initial telephone consultation (10-15 minutes)
$180 for an initial one-hour intake interview/consultation
$160 for a 45-minute individual/family therapy session
$160-$180 per hour for psychological testing, typically bundled into one fee.
$180 per hour for coparenting consultation, reunification therapy, and Collaborative Divorce work
$800 per 1/2 day minimum for Court testimony + additional fee for preparation, payable ten days in advance of appearance, nonrefundable for cancellation.

I may be available for out-of-session communication when needed, although I would recommend that clinical issues be addressed in session. Telephone and email consultation over 10 minutes will be subject to fees apportioned to the time expended.

Finally, psychotherapy via video conferencing (telehealth) is available to existing patients in case of weather or illness, and will be assessed the same fees as in-person work.

Payment

I accept cash, check and all major credit cards, as well as Venmo and Paypal as forms of payment. I request that any bundled service and Court-related fees be paid by cash or check only.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.
